Hi, I'm Aften - Earl's favorite daughter (don't tell Ariel). I'm not a blogger, but decided to put this together 1. To help myself get through this process (selfish I know) 2. To provide a central outlet for information, prayers, encouraging thoughts, jokes and comments (make a few of them sarcastic too - you know how dad likes to BS) and 3. Because I know dad is going to love reading this one day as we look back on this time and say...yeah, that was scary,but you kicked some serious cancer ass!

Surgery - 2:00pm Update
Out of surgery...two and a half hours early. All went well up to this point. The doctors tackled 1 of the 2 tumor areas in the brain (there will still be a second procedure in a few weeks to tackle the other). They feel they were able to successfully treat the area (they can never guarantee to get every cancer cell since they are microscopic). That's all of the info we have for now and we're thankful it's good news - He is in recovery now and we haven't seen him yet. It sounds like we will be able to see him in an hour or so, so I'll update again in a little while. Thanks again for the prayers and positive thoughts!
