Kickin' Cancer Bash: Family + Friends Gather in Support of Earl Strieker

An AMAZING group of family and friends have come together in planning a Kickin' Cancer Bash to help support Dad. I've said this so many times on this blog now, but words cannot express how grateful we are to have such an amazing support system of family, friends and community. You all have already done SO much for us and the thought of so many of you coming together to put on an event like this makes me really emotional.

We've been so fortunate to not need help of this magnitude before, and as I was telling a few of you, we've really struggled asking even for little favors as Dad has been in and out of the hospital...the only thing I can say, on behalf of my whole family is we are SO thankful and forever grateful. Your kindness and support will always be remembered and we hope you know, we will always be there for you too when you need us.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Yay! Happy 59th Birthday to Dad today! We plan to go to Popeyes soon to celebrate, but Dad wants to make sure his taste buds are in tip top shape first, so he can order his usual prime rib. Tonight we're just going to take it easy and visit at his house. I'll try to post a photo later.

Also big happy birthday to my Aunt Cheryl! She's spending the day with Dad today - I'm sure they have plenty of birthday shenanigans planned :)

Happy Birthday to Canaan!

Canaan's first birthday today! Can't believe it has been a year - looking through the photos from the hospital last year make me tear up. We've definitely had our ups and downs this year, but so thankful to be celebrating Canaan and Dad's birthday this week!

Birthdays!

Big week this week - Canaan turns one tomorrow and Dad turns the big 5-9 on on Wednesday. We have learned to not take Birthdays lightly - they are a day dedicated to celebrating another year of life, and celebrating is definitely what we plan to do! Dad is continuing in a positive direction, but please continue to keep him in your prayers.

Also, a few of you asked for his address to be able to send him a birthday card - here it is. I'm sure he would love to hear from you!!
