The pain doctors converted Dads medicine to oral today. It worked OK early afternoon, but clearly not sufficient this evening - he has been in such bad pain that he was shaking. Of course no Doctors around again since it's the evening - finally got an order for him to be put back on the IV pain button through the night until the doctors show up again tomorrow. Very very frustrating - I have a really hard time controlling my anger after seeing him in so much pain for so long and with no answers.
The pain management doctors feel the pain is definitely nerve related. The neurosurgeons agree and feel there is a tumor in the lower back area, triggering the hematoma and even before the hematoma affecting/helping to cause the pain. The oncologist doesn't feel it is tumor related at all and doesn't feel he has a tumor in the area in question. Frustrating. I agree with the neurosurgeons and believe the pain is neuropathic pain and feel it is being caused by the tumor and nociceptors and feel he needs a second oncology opinion ...but what do I know about answers and diagnosis, I'm not a doctor. We'll see what happens tomorrow.. One day at a time.
If Anyone plans to visit tomorrow during the day, can you please call me before heading to the hospital? 618-520-2453. Mom and Dad need a few things from their house and I'm not able to get to the hospital tomorrow during the day.
Many prayers needed and thank you thank you for all of the support. We definitely wouldn't make it through each day without it.
thanks for the updates..but not exactly the news that we are wanting to read....I wish there is s'thing I can do (if so let me know) otherwise I will keep on praying. Best of Luck

Your dad and family are in our prayers. If there is anything that your daf would like Bob to do let us know. I will ask the Poor Clare Sisters to continue to prayer for everyone especially for you dad to be pain free.
