In the ER....

A quick update from my phone (excuse the autocorrect/typos). Dad is in the ER due to leg, lower back/spine pain. In addition to the pain we've been trying to deal re: my last post, Dad slipped and fell on the deck on Wednesday and his pain has become severly worse since. An MRI yesterday morning revealed a blood mass near his tail bone (likely from the fall)...the pain got so severe last night Dad came to the ER. They gave him an IV dose of stronger pain meds and he went home early this AM feeling much better, but the severe pain returned this afternoon and we're back in the ER. He will likely be admitted and stay overnight tonight - it seems the plan is to treat the pain as best as possible and allow the blood to absorb/resolve on its own or at least this is the plan until he is able to see the oncologist on (hopefully) Monday morning..

Big thanks to Mike Berndsen for picking Dad up in the ambulance last night when he wasn't able to get in the car due to the pain and to NAK for bringing him back today while Mom was trying to be with Ariel and help her move to school. Also big thanks to Mark Tebbe and family for taking care of Mom and Dads yard ongoingly- means a lot...and thanks to many more friends and family for helping with transportations, appointments, meals, and the list goes on and on - I don't want to miss anyone because there are so many people who have helped/offered to help lately. It means so much - not sure what Mom and Dad would do without all of your support. Thanks again.
