It's been a while since I've posted - after the great test results (although we know there is no cure for the cancer) we've tried to take a break from it all and just live life for a while. Dad is getting a little stronger each week - the sciatica is still really bothering him though unfortunately. He's not able to sit for long periods of time, sleeping is a challenge and he's only able to ride in the car for short durations. Some foods still don't taste right and his appetite is not up to par some days, but things could certainly be much much worse. All in all, we've been just trying enjoy the weeks - they have been flying by so quickly it seems!
Speaking of, I can't believe the Kicking Cancer Bash is already next Saturday!? Have you all checked out the website??? www.earlstrieker.com Unbelievable! We are so thankful and humbled by all of the support - there are some really great auction items and they continue to come in every day! Thank you thank you thank you to all of our friends, family and community who have been instrumental in making this event happen - special big thanks to the committee for everything - I'm sure the day will be very emotional for Mom and Dad, but I know they are forever thankful.
Here's to hoping for good weather for next Saturday!
Have been able to get just a glimpse of the amazing time and effort put in by the committee and the overwhelming response from friends and family-Superman-you and your family have obviously touched MANY more lives than just mine!!Praying for good weather and for some relief from the pain so you can enjoy it!
