Hi, I'm Aften - Earl's favorite daughter (don't tell Ariel). I'm not a blogger, but decided to put this together 1. To help myself get through this process (selfish I know) 2. To provide a central outlet for information, prayers, encouraging thoughts, jokes and comments (make a few of them sarcastic too - you know how dad likes to BS) and 3. Because I know dad is going to love reading this one day as we look back on this time and say...yeah, that was scary,but you kicked some serious cancer ass!

Making Progress
Still not a lot of new news to report, but that's a good thing in my opinion! Dad is still in the hospital, but slowly continuing to progress in a positive direction. Food is beginning to taste (A LITTLE) bit better and his levels are slowly becoming more consistent. As soon as the doctors feel good about the levels, they will transition him to the blood thinners he will take at home and will release him from the hospital. Hopefully soon, possibly tomorrow, but we're not in a rush as long as things continue to go well! Thank you again for all of the thoughts, prayers, care packages and comments - more to come soon!
