All positive updates!

Only positive update to report today! Dad is feeling pretty well and has been getting around much better lately. Mom and Dad celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on Sunday - I should have updated prior, but we were so busy getting together and spending time as a family that I forgot. We spent a lot of time together this weekend..went to breakfast to celebrate and later a few friends invited them to the winery to celebrate.

Today, Dad had his spine MRI... We were pretty nervous since we haven't had a scan since the hospital, but the report came back great! The doctors said the blood/spot has significantly decreased and they saw remarkable improvement between scans. Still cant tell by scans if its all blood from trauma or blood and a tumor but at this point, don't feel its worth more invasive tests to find out - the pain is under control consistently for the most part now, with a combination of pain meds - this is a relief.

The doctors were also impressed with how well Dad is getting around today - a complete 180 from the hospital just a short month ago. He's a strange case they continue to say - does not follow the textbooks..but that's ok as long as we continue to get good news. Dad has still not started the BRAF/melanoma drug...I've given up on pushing on this for the moment...doctors can't decide for his case and right now in time if the risk of the side effects and overall effects of drugs outweigh sitting back for a little while longer to watch the scans first (since the areas of concern are only showing on the PET at this point).. The doctors are getting together again after the results today to come up with a stronger recommendation either one way or the other.. He will have another brain MRI coming up soon again too...BUT we'll worry about all of this a different day - for now, we're trying to just celebrate good times and good results. Thanks again for all of the continued support!
