Sorry for the delay - it's been really difficult to keep up most days lately. Dad is doing about the same as my last update. He's still having the leg pain, mainly at night - although today he had quite a big of pain up until this afternoon when rounds of the pain meds kicked in...Also still really restless a lot of the day and night, trying to get comfortable in the bed (who wouldn't be though - hospital beds aren't the most comfortable) He's still eating really well as I mentioned in my last post..he's had plenty of Wally's and PJs for breakfast most days. He's also eaten his fair share of pie and sweets, which are being delivered to him daily by friends..I knew he was a big fan of pie, but MAN I've never seen a person eat so much pie in one day! He even said he was going to hide a few pieces, so no one steals his pie :)
He did have a "trembling" episode this afternoon, which seemed to be a seizure, but this it the first day his steroids have been stepped down, so hopefully that was the cause and not something else. He was aware and responsive during, which is a good sign. We called the neurology team to be on the safe side, but we're still waiting to hear back.
His neck appears to be getting stronger, but he still needs total assistance to move. We try to use the lift to get him in the chair for a bit each day and we were able to wheel him out to enjoy breakfast on the deck the other day, which was nice after being indoors for so long..PT and OT also gave range of motion exercises for Dad to do. Hopefully we are able to find a way to ease the leg pain more consistently so he can put more effort toward the exercises.
That's all for now - thanks for the continued support. Keep the prayers coming for comfort and strength. Thanks
