Update: Hawaii

Hi All

Kyle and I made it home from Hawaii this morning. The rest of the family is still there and will return next Tuesday. Bitter sweet, sad to leave but happy to see our little man. Big thanks to Art Kampwerth for picking us up from the airport this am and another big thanks to Carl Huels for hooking us up/driving the bus to bring us to the airport - huge savings on parking multiple cars at the airport and we really appreciate it.

Hawaii is beautiful and the wedding day went well - perfect weather. Our resort is the in the Kehei area which is a really neat area, but we also visited several beaches and other areas around the island.

The days have been a mix of sight seeing, visiting beaches and eating - lots of great food and some shaved ice too! On the wedding day, we also went to a Luau, which was really cool. Dad has been doing ok - he has had pain most afternoons and evenings and did get a pretty bad sun burn on his feet/legs early in the week unfortunately (even with applying multiple layers of suntan lotion and sitting under an umbrella)... The sunburn has gotten better after using Aloe, but the pain is still giving him trouble, even with pain meds - some days are better than others, but he has spent a lot of time at the resort. He was able to BBQ one day and he enjoys sitting on the patio of our condo, which has a view to the pool. Nonetheless, he's been relaxing which is exactly what he's needed. We rented a few cars, so Mom has been able to get out, joining us in sight seeing and visiting different areas - she has spent a fair share of time relaxing too. Although we're taking a risk in not starting the treatment medication Dad needs to take, I'm glad we waited until after Hawaii because at least he doesn't have to deal with the side effects from that drug and can fully enjoy the times he's not having pain.

I will post another update when I hear from them, but thought I would share a few photos in the meantime. More to come after I upload my images from my camera and recover from the jet lag!

Hope you are all doing well and as always, thank you for all of the messages, comments, prayers and support!
