2 more days of radiation and no one is more ready for it to be over than Dad! His last day of radiation is Tuesday - other than being really tired, the worst side effect has been that he completely lost his sense of taste - everything tastes like metal (and you all know how much Dad loves his food!). We've been counting down the days - the doctors say it could take about 2-3 weeks after radiation is complete, for his taste buds to go back to normal. In the meantime, we are looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel (aka, Popeye's :))
Big big thank you to all of you who have given Dad rides to and from St. Louis every day for radiation AND to the many people who have kept him company these tough last couple of weeks - couldn't have made it through without all of you and we are forever grateful.
After radiation is complete, there will be a couple of weeks of downtime and then Dad will likely go for an MRI and whole body scan - prayers prayers prayers that everything looks 'melanoma-free.'
In the meantime, thanks again for everything - we so SO appreciate it!
Yay Earl!! Your almost there! Just two more treatments...great. Feeling better and having fun fattening you up in a couple weeks...priceless!!
